So it begins…

—— WE’VE MOVED: Check out this post on my new site! ——

I’ve been wanting to create a blog for some time now to create an outlet for people like me. I wanted to do this for myself and maybe — just maybe — I could touch someone with my words.

The summer after my freshman year of college I learned so much about myself and really went through some sort of transformation; I quickly learned that I want to document this change somehow, and what better way to do it than on the internet with the whole world!

Lets get real: I am a 20-year-old college student who just wants to find her place in the world. I suppose I would call myself “multi-passionate,” because declaring a major was one of the toughest decisions I’ve made! My interests lie in music, psychology, business, language, and design. However, thankfully, my university offers a degree in User Experience (UX). Now you may be wondering what that means, but don’t worry, I will definitely be talking about it in a later blog post, so stay tuned!

Why did I create this blog?

I wanted a place to write down my thoughts and experiences. I didn’t want to just use a personal journal, though, because I wanted to share what I have to say to anyone that will listen. I hope to connect, grow as a person, learn, and maybe even help others with this blog.

The name “Tiger Lily,” comes from an old nickname that my aunt called me. While brainstorming blog names this one popped into my head and I knew it was the one. Not only is it also a name of a beautiful flower, but it has another special meaning to me. It is my mantra, “I am a tiger lily.” I am strong and I am delicate; I am brave and I am hesitant; I am powerful and I am beautiful. The name draws upon the idea of the masculine and the feminine and I am so for that. Every single person on this planet has masculine and feminine qualities in them but I think we forget it sometimes. So, I’m here to remind you.

With love,

T.L.
